Hello there! You've reached what I like to think of as my personal site when it comes to my interests and overall online presence. My name is Ismail. I'm a Muslim, writer, gamer, blogger, and more. Within online spaces, I often try to use the pseudonym, "Yoshistar", since it's been a childhood username of mine that I've had trouble shaking off from its personal clutch to my heart.
Bluntly speaking, this website is still a personal work-in-progress if we're talking about what I want to do with it moving forwards. I want this site to become both a place to show my professional and personal skills, while allowing it to speak for itself to newcomers about the sort of person I am.
The reality is that I'm obsessed with any piece of fictional media I often come across. Whether videogames, film, anime, manga, or even books - I have a wide range of interests that have always inspired my compulsion to showcase my creativity and - hopefully good - media comprehension. Notably, the works I'm into include series such as Super Mario, Splatoon, Persona, Love Live, Gundam, Children of the Whales, BanG Dream!, and many many more.
Throughout my years spent on the internet developing my creative skillset, I've spent a lot of time writing various fanfiction projects for the different series I've enjoyed, while trying to promote them on my casual, yet semi-casual X (formerly Twitter) page, "Yoshistar_Writes". While my fanfiction ventures primarily began on Wattpad, I later since moved towards Ao3, as I found the ease of access regarding the site to be much more friendly for writers and readers alike. I'm primarily proud of my latter works, including my attempted novelisation project for one of my favourite games, "Fire Emblem: Three Houses", which you can find under the label, "Fire Emblem: Crimson Flower". I believe this work to be one of my aspiring projects when looking to the future, however I'm always on the lookout to write other shorter and varied stories when the opportunity presents itself to me.
Moving forwards, I want to do a lot more when it comes to this site, my writing, and myself. I'd like to make this site primarily function as a "hub of Ismail" of sorts. I'm trying to treat my blog pages as spurs of creative introspective, where I rant about my favourite parts about my favourite pieces of media, while still staying true to myself about my relative hobbies. This page is slowly growing, and I want to do much more with it! At some point, I plan to move on from fan projects and commit myself to my own piece of creativity. Whether the project in-question becomes a book, game, visual novel, profit, not-for-profit, or even real - is a different matter entirely, but I believe I have the commitment and dedication required for making that dream a reality.
Talking about my interests is my hobby, writing stories about them is my speciality, and hopefully forging my own unique work is my dream. I'll see to it that each of these facets of my person lead to a better future for myself. I'm hoping that whoever you are - you can join me on this journey for when the day finally arrives!
