Everything has a beginning, and I'm just so happening to choose my beginning to start here.
Who am I? What am I doing here? Why have I decided to introduce myself on a blogging page that'll (hopefully) eventually be drowned out by dozens of other pages once this entire site gets going? I can't answer all of these questions, but I can start from the very beginning.
I'm Ismail. Many years of being obsessed with Yoshi and all things Nintendo have earned me the username, "Yoshistar," as my alias name for my socials, but my real self is well and truly just Ismail. I'm an inside shut-in who prefers sitting down immersing myself in fictional worlds rather than opening the door to my house and finding out what "real" nature is. I'm a fan of most games RPG-like, and have grown up with the unmissable presence of Nintendo characters at my helm. When I finish playing games, I read a book or watch anime - and when I finish with that - I do what I'm doing now, and begin writing.
Because yes: I write, and I write a LOT! What started out as a New Year's resolution to improve my bored habits ended up being an almost ritualistic tendecy, as I slowly became adamant to put words onto script almost everyday. During the times I don't - it ends up as a loss on my end. I'm never satisfied if I can't record things down, and if the constant Backloggd and MyAnimeList accounts I have aren't enough to prove that to you, then my determined tenacity in writing fanfictions on any series I love probably can.
I'm a nerd. Or is it a geek? You can argue what you want about what I am, but I'm definitely a shut-in when I have my way with life. I prefer to keep quiet when I can, but while doing that I'll constantly be thinking about the games I've played, the worlds I've travelled, the characters I've met, and the stories I've witnessed. My games are a part of me. I consume media as if I were building up a collection, and I'm incredibly passionate about stories that have a meaningful narrative with constant foreshadowing and metaphorical symbolism in them. I often rush through games, but then they sit with me long after I've played them.
So that's why I started this blog. Everyone is different, and we're all our own people. I'm tired of keeping my own self held down in my mind, and I eventually grew sick of not letting my creative tendencies out to the world out there. I need to free myself, and I'm going to start doing it now!
This is a blog all about me: Ismail. I'm going to keep it that way, and I'm going to grow this page into something where I'll be updating my regular habits as often as I can. Of course, I write a lot of things in my spare time. Between the genuine stories, the fanfictions, and my own personal work - this blog stays somewhere in the middle between a genuine commitment and an enjoyment for me. I don't know how far we'll take it, but I'll try to update this blog regardless of what goes on in my life. If not constantly, I'll do it at a monthly rate. I'm going to do everything in my power to make this page all about me.
And although I wish I could tell you all more about my interests, my habits, and my tendencies - my favourite games, my preferred anime, and my most-cherished characters - but I'm going to save it for later. I'm going to let it flow through naturally until you well and truly know everything about my interests. One that happens, then I'm sure this will one day become a blog to remember.
